What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis utilises the naturally occurring state of awareness known as trance.

Like a driver having a navigator in the passenger seat, providing directions to a given place, a Hypnotherapist would use hypnosis as a tool to direct the person's unconscious mind to achieve the person's goal. 

What is Trance?

Trance is a naturally occurring state of awareness where our attention is focused on one thing to the exclusion of all others. 

Naturally occurring trance states are activities such as daydreaming, watching the TV, reading a book... or maybe you have even been in a 'driver's trance'.... you know the type of thing, when you're driving along, the lines on the road and the scenery around just lead you to 'go into your own world'... and then suddenly, there's brake lights up ahead and you act immediately... having come out of the driver's trance!  And where did those last two miles go?

What Is Self-Hypnosis?

Self-Hypnosis is where you become your own navigator... you set the goal and take yourself into the trance.

This often is a deep state of relaxation, which has profound effects on both your mental and physical well being.  By quietening the mind, tapping into its inner resources and relaxing your body's physiology it has been scientifically proven to enhance health and longevity.

By The End Of This Workshop You Will:

have two short written scripts to take home and use (self-esteem and relaxation);

have experienced an eyes-closed trance state that will act as a template for future self-hypnosis.

Dr. Kerry Halliday

Kerry Halliday PhD is primarily a hypnotherapist and has 10 years of working in the therapeutic setting. Her extensive skills are drawn primarily from a background in psychology, health research, hypnotherapy and NLP.  Life and her clients however, have been her biggest teachers. As a Reiki master she uses her metaphysical skills combined with practical techniques for emotional, spiritual and physical healing working with the concept of co-creating wellness with the client.   She believes the greatest gift we can offer the world is healing ourselves.

Sue Pullen

Sue Pullen D.Hyp.Psych, D.ASH, TFTDx is an NLP Trainer with the Society of NLP, a Brief Solution-Focused Psychotherapist, an Advanced Structured Hypnotherapist, a Reiki Master & Teacher and a Thought Field Therapy Diagnostics Level Practitioner.  She trained with some of the best known masters, including Paul McKenna, Valerie Austin, Dr Roger Callahan (creator of TFT) and Dr Richard Bandler (co-creator of NLP).
