people’s minds around this imminent punctuation mark in our understanding of
Time..
Why this specific date? What might
happen? Will it be a whisper or a bang?
That these times are turbulent is
irrefutable, and unless you’re living on the moon you will have had that sense
that we’re about to peak, or crash, or burst or leap – or something…. The old
systems and ways of living are collapsing around us, compounded by global
catastrophes, food and fuel crises, wars and financial melt down. It often seems
as if we are heading for something no less than extinction.

From our Winter Term 2008, LCS will be providing a platform to explore the
enigma that is 2012.
Each term, we will have a panel of experts who will interact with the audience -
you - to explore, share and debate any issue relating to the 2012 phenomena.
It is hoped that this Forum will be the first of a series, which will evolve with
what’s happening and how we can move collectively into an era of peace.
‘As
above, so below,’ states the ancient hermetic maxim. ‘As within, so without’. In
these few words we find the key to understanding what on Earth is going on in
our little worlds both personal and global. It’s not just our own planet that is
going through massive change, but the Sun is behaving unusually and its
life-affecting solar flare activity is expected to peak in 2012. If you take
your perspective beyond our tiny star’s family hanging in space on an outer arm
of the galaxy you will find there are other events – on a cosmic scale – that
are taking place, concerning our relationship to the pulsing heart of the Galaxy
itself. These events have been known about and forecast by ancient people
around the world for millennia. This knowledge that has been handed down
through the elders, the teaching schools, prophets and seers speaks of the very
times we are in right now. This knowledge speaks of the completion of cycles and
calendars; it tells us about our choices and that unless we ‘go within’ we will
go without.
Change,
change, change! It rings out like a mantra everywhere we look. Nothing can
remain the same as our caterpillar world goes into liquidation. This is not a
time to lose heart. On the contrary, our heart – as the ancient Egyptians
completely understood – holds the key to understanding everything both in the
Heavens and on Earth. It provides us with the only truly reliable compass for
navigating these times, enabling us to communicate heart to heart and to
recognise the interconnectivity between us all and the web in which we exist.
This requires us to make changes now. Changes concerning our beliefs, our
perspectives and our conscious presence here as souls who signed up for this
particular human experience.
The LCS has recognised that this radical call
for change is in fact about evolution. It might well bring up all our fears
about death and disaster, but that leads us to consider the meaning of what
actually dies, and what is immortal. It puts the soul back in the driving seat
of our lives. It brings us together. It takes our eyes away from
soul-shrivelling materialism to look at what really ‘matters’ - just as the
Mayans forecast nearly 2,000 years ago. It opens the gates to freedom from our
repeating patterns, dramas and addictions.
These times are not about endings, but
beginnings. They are not about conclusions, but transitions. And LCS has
committed to support and inform this evolution in whatever ways present
themselves so that we can provide tools and information from as many
perspectives as possible. Ultimately all the strands will take us to the same
place, and each of us needs to find our own way of interpreting what’s
happening, and how to actually be the change.
To this end LCS has decided to include 2012
Forum events in their
programme. These will have a panel of speakers who will talk about the times
we are in from their perspective, which will be followed by questions and
discussions about whatever the audience wishes to bring to the table.

Dr Grahame Blackwell is a Member of the British Computer Society, a Chartered
Information Technology Practitioner, a Chartered Engineer and a member of the
European Federation of Engineering Associations (FEANI). He is also a qualified
teacher and a university lecturer/researcher of many years’ experience. His
first degree is in Mathematics & Computing, his PhD is in computer-based
artificial intelligence. Some years ago Dr Blackwell played a leading role in a
multi-million pound EU-funded research & development project working on mobile
telecommunications – what we now call 3G. His contact with the science of
radiocommunications led him to undertake in-depth personal research into the
nature of what we all experience as ‘material reality’. His central conclusion,

fact totally composed of light – just as sages and mystics have been telling us
